Britvic says 2011 was ‘all about trends and innovations' in soft drinks
Britvic has just unveiled its Soft Drinks Report 2012 at the Hospital Club, London. Murray Harris, customer management director, said 2011 was "all about the trends and innovations".
Figures show a total market value growth of 4%, which fell just short of £10b.
On premise sales totalled £2.7b with a 1% value decline and 4% volume decline. Pepsi was the number one brand with a 7% value growth, followed by Coca-Cola with 11% value growth.
The report shows an increase in the consumption of energy drinks and a resurgence in the popularity of spirits meant an increase in sales of mixers.
Looking forward, Britvic is hoping that the government's national alcohol strategy could be good news for soft drinks and with the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics around the corner, the company is looking forward to a productive 2012.
