The new Café Collection of croissants, pastries and muffins from Kara Foodservice is designed to meet emerging caf‚-culture trends and to fill a gap in the market for fully baked, thaw-and-serve pastries to prevent the problems of under-baking or burning frozen, part-baked products on site.
The line-up includes treats to linger over as well as easy-to-handle grab-and-go snacks that reflect the fact that one in 20 food service purchases is now eaten in the car.
The tubs of shareable, unwrapped Mini Muffin bites will sit in a car cup holder, while the full-size Tulip Triple Chocolate Muffin and Blueberry Muffins replace traditional fluted paper cases with petal-style paper wraps that remove easily to double as napkins.
Pain au Chocolat, Pain aux Raisins, Golden Croissant, Cinnamon Swirl, Chocolate Twist and a selection of mini pastries complete the range.
Café Collection follows the launch of Kara's Restaurant Collection of Continental speciality breads in January, which includes organic and seeded products.
