CEDA Academy makes two board appointments

The Catering Equipment Distributors Association (CEDA) has announced its first board appointments at its new Academy.

Stephen Ryan, area sales manager for Gratte Brothers, has been selected for the role of chair, while the vice-chair position has been given to Michael Golightly, lead designer for Inox Equip.

CEDA director general Adam Mason said: "We are delighted that both Stephen and Michael have accepted the two leadership roles for CEDA's vibrant Academy group, who will represent the next generation of talent from CEDA members and partners.

"Stephen and Michael will be working together with the CEDA Academy members focusing on education and learning development, sustainability and supply chain relationships as three core focus points for the group to contribute ideas and strategies that support the development of young talent and the wider foodservice sector as a whole."

Ryan said: "I'm delighted to have been appointed chair of the CEDA Academy. It is a great honour and makes me proud to be associated with such an exciting part of the association. I feel it is a big step forward in my career within the industry and will help my own personal development."

Golightly added: "Being appointed as vice-chair of the CEDA Academy is a fantastic achievement for me as I aim to increase my knowledge within the industry, as well as networking with other people in the foodservice sector. Becoming vice-chair is a really positive step for me and my own aim is to enhance the CEDA Academy's influence moving forward within our three key focus areas."

Mark Kendal, director of Inox Equip, added: "All the team at Inox are really proud of the progress Michael has made. The obvious next step was for him and us to embrace the culture and join the conversation with CEDA's great new initiative, the CEDA Academy."
