CESA announces details of 2012 conference

The theme of this year's Catering Equipment Suppliers' Association (CESA) conference being held at Whittlebury Hall, Towcester, on 15 and 16 November is A Platform for Growth.

Keith Warren, director of CESA, said: "The 2012 event, as in previous years, will mix insights into the industry's future with the contentious, the fascinating and the outrageous, plus it will be an opportunity to network with 200 food service professionals,"

Headline speakers for 2012 include Rohit Talwar and Sir Garry Hawkes CBE. Talwar, who led the futures and horizon-scanning programme for DEFRA and has been hailed as one the "top 10 global future thinkers" by The Independent, will lead the debate on sustainability in the industry.

Sir Garry, the former chair and chief executive of Gardner Merchant, now president of the Edge Foundation, a board member of the Academy of Culinary Arts and chair of First4Skills, will make a presentation on the skills gap and ways in which the hospitality industry is developing "professionalism."
