Cowboy launches new Texan jerky range following Dragon's Den pitch
Eccentric cowboy Joe Walters, who mesmerised the panel in last weekend's episode of BBC's Dragon's Den, has announced the launch of his authentic Texas Joe's range of BBQ products and snacks.
Walters secured a £50,000 investment from Peter Jones, although the Texan now plans to launch without the assistance of the "Dragon".
The show's entrepreneurs were impressed enough with Walter's product and sparkling personality to vie for a share of the jerky business, but the producers of the TV show had also allowed outside investor (BrewDog cofounder, James Watt) to match any offer made by the judges leaving Walters only needing to secure a further £37,500 or 16% stake.
Walters received four offers of investment, with a concluding pitch from Jones for 24%, an offer that has since been declined.
Brewdog remain on-board with the Texas Joe's ‘Original Texan Jerky' available to buy at BrewDog bars from this week.
