Danish Crown launches Ultimate Burger competition
Meat processing company Danish Crown has launched an Ultimate Burger competition in honour of national burger day on 24 August.
Danish Crown is urging operators to excite their customers by adding new burger format to their menus. According to market and consumer trend analysist Mintel, 60% of consumers have visited a burger bar in the last three months making it a popular option for diners.
Allan Hansen, foodservice director at Danish Crown UK said: "A burger's wide appeal and versatility makes it the hero dish on any menu; despite customers becoming increasingly adventurous when it comes to eating out, this classic remains a go-to for many diners, serving up great value for money. What has changed over the years is the quality of the burgers on offer and customer expectation. We're receiving growing requests from chefs and operators looking to have their own bespoke burger patties or burger mince, 100% British Beef is no longer enough with ingredients such as bone marrow now being added for flavour and texture.
The winner will receive two tickets for a three course meal and drinks at Manchester United's stadium, Old Trafford, as well as an overnight stay in the city. They will also win a premium meat hamper worth £150, containing steaks, burgers, sausages, bacon, and ribs.
For the chance to win, email gebal@danishcrown.com or tweet @DanishCrownUK with a picture of your favourite burger using the hashtag #UltimateBurger by midday on the 25 August.
