Darjeeling First Flush arrives in the UK

The East India Company has delivered it first shipment of 2015 Darjeeling First Flush tea to the UK.

The cold Himalayan air and intense sunshine of Darjeeling create a unique flavour profile and this years crop from the Namring Upper Estate located 5000 ft above sea level has a terroir that creates a harmonious flavour balance.

Darjeeling tea enjoys a reputation for being a nuanced flavourful tea, very light in the cup allowing for it to be enjoyed without milk or sugar. The characteristic most prized in the Darjeeling First Flush is its fresh earthy notes and delicate floral aroma.

Sanjiv Mehta, chairman of the East India Company, commented: "We are delighted that The East India Company has once again brought the Darjeeling First Flush to the UK and we determined to continue to build upon the pedigree and enviable heritage of our brand."
