Dark Nights Christmas fare from Brakes

More than 40 festive newcomers jostle for attention on Brakes' Dark Nights seasonal menu. Party foods include Mini Peppered Steak Pies, Mini Croque Monsieurs and Mini Thai Basket selections of prawn, vegetable, tamarind, crab, sweetcorn, chicken, cashew nut and green Thai chicken in crispy krathong flower-shaped baskets.

Smoked Haddock & Spinach Pie and Coriander, Chilli & Garlic Marinated Prawns are among the sea-themed starters, while new main dishes cater for vegetarians with a Dolcellate and Pear Tart featuring a rosemary and red onion pastry case. Meat-eaters can choose from slow-cooked Lamb en Croute, Beef Brisket with Portobello Mushrooms and Balsamic Jus, and cod wrapped in Scottish smoked salmon with herb butter.

New accompaniments are Beetroot & Horseradish Chutney, Braised Red Cabbage and Panzarella Dressing. Completing the menu are individual Treacle Roly Poly Puddings, frozen Ice Hazlent and Honey Parfait desserts and a Red Velvet Fudge Cake of red sponge, raspberry sauce and white chocolate icing.
