Details for the first Chocolate Dessert of the Year competition announced

The first Chocolate Dessert of the Year competition which debuts at The Chocolate Show in October has announced its line-up of judges and prizes.

The competition, which aims to highlight the most talented chocolatiers and pastry chefs around the UK, will be judged by an array of journalists and pastry chefs such as Xanthe Clay, journalist at The Telegraph, master chocolatier Paul A Young, UK Pastry Team President Martin Chiffers, Cherish Finden executive pastry chef of Langham London, judge on Great British Bake Off Crème de la Crème and Mark Tilling resident tutor at Squires and winner of Crème de la Crème.

The winner will receive £500 and all expenses paid trip to the chocolate manufacturer Valrhona's Factory in France.
