Douwe Egberts Professional launches Barista of the Year award

Douwe Egberts Professional has partnered with the Millennium Copthorne Hotel Group to launch ‘Barista of the Year' award. The competition which will invite baristas from across the Millennium Copthorne UK group to take part and demonstrate their coffee making skills.

Master Baristas from Douwe Egberts, will help shortlist the entrants.

Candidates will be asked to prepare three drinks for each member of the judging panel, including a cappuccino; espresso and a personal signature hot drink created by the barista, to demonstrate their creative skill.

Martyn Bell, marketing manager for Douwe Egberts Professional said: "We're delighted to support the Millennium Copthorne Group and to reward their hard working baristas."

The winner will be awarded the ‘Barista of the Year' accolade, £500 in holiday vouchers and the opportunity to add their signature hot drink to the menu across the entire Millennium Copthorne estate. Regional heats start in August.
