Draught Chalky's Bark beer with ginger from Sharp's Brewery

A draught version of Chalky's Bark- a beer spiced with ginger that was created by Sharp's Brewery in response to a challenge from celebrity chef Rick Stein - forms part of the company's new Premium Wholesale portfolio.

The line also includes Sharp's own Orchard Cider and a super-premium imported pilsner, Meister Pils, from DL Schwaben of Germany, which has granted Sharp's exclusive distribution rights in south-west England.

Chalky's Bark came about when Rick Stein - whose restaurant is near the Sharp's brewery in Rock, Cornwall - called for a distinctly English beer to match the Belgian greats. Sharp's head brewer Stuart Howe opted for a less alcoholic version (at 4.5% abv) of its Chalky's Bite beer that was spiced up with fresh ginger and hops with a lemony aroma.

The triple-fermented tipple is light, fruity and refreshing and an ideal accompaniment to Asian and seafood dishes. While the bottled version comes in cases of 12 x 500ml, the draught version is supplied in 30-litre kegs.
