Eco-burner launches safer, energy-saving, more controllable chafing dish heater
The new Chafo burner for warming chafing dishes at buffets, conferences and events is designed to reduce the cost of heating by up to 30% while offering caterers a safer, cleaner and more controllable operation than traditional methods.
"Unlike gel and wick burners, which become hot to the touch when lit and can spill flaming gel when knocked over, the Chafo is cool to the touch and completely controllable," said Lawrence Rippon, national sales and marketing manager at Eco-burner](http://www.ecoburner.com), which distributes the Chafo.
This next-generation burner comes with an ergonomic dial that varies the intensity of the heat to suit the caterers' needs. Added controllability stems from a patented safety valve that extinguishes the flame if the burner is dropped or tipped, along with an auto cut-out feature that kicks in should the chafing dish boil dry.
Chafo is designed as a drop-in replacement for traditional gel and wick burners and can be refilled with the specially-formulated fuel from an aerosol canister after use.
The fuel heats up in two minutes and will burn from five to eight hours. As it is odourless and smokeless, it improves the climate of the dining environment and reduces the amount of blackening that needs to be cleaned off the base of the chafing dish.
