Eco-friendly foam from Precision

Eco-friendly foam from Precision

Precision has become the first supplier to use Envirofoam, a new greener foam insulation developed by IFS Chemicals across its commercial catering range of fridges, freezers, prep counters and back-bar coolers.

The traditional polyurethane foams used in refrigeration are made from polymers derived from highly polluting petrochemicals.

Envirofoam, on the other hand, is sourced from renewable vegetable materials such as rapeseed oil. Envirofoam can be made with only 10% of the energy needed to produce petrochemical-based polyols. The blowing agent used contributes little to global warming and does not damage the Earth's ozone layer.
