Eddie Moffat picks up Outstanding Contribution Award at the CESA annual conference
Eddie Moffat, founder of E&R Moffat Catering Equipment, has won the Outstanding Contribution Award at the CESA annual conference, held this year at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire.
Leaving school in 1939, aged 14, Moffat began an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker, served as a telegraphist and air gunner in the Fleet Air Arm in WWII and then eventually set up his own company with help from his brother Reid (the ‘R' in E&R Moffat).
Moffat, now 87, visits the office once a week to get an update on what's happening at the company, which remains family-owned, being run by his son, William who has been Managing Director for the last 20 years.
The Outstanding Contribution Award is sponsored by CESA, the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association and Caterer and Hotelkeeper, the hospitality trade magazine and is decided by members of the catering industry
