Enotria devises wine courses for casual dining outlets

Specialist wine importer and distributor Enotria has launched a wine training programme for front of house staff in pubs and casual restaurants who have little prior knowledge of wine.

The courses are designed to arm staff with the confidence, understanding and knowledge to improve their wine customer service and become proactive wine salespeople. Based around the establishment's own wine list, the tailored programme covers topics from customer service to matching foods and wines.

"Wine is a significant part of an outlet's revenue and very often gets limited focus," said Enotria managing director John Grieveson. "Staff training can have a profound impact on wine sales; however, just like the wine itself, we believe that all too often it too receives insufficient focus."
