FCSI pledge support of the Carbon Trust's Carbon Calculator

09 July 2013 by

The first industry association to pledge financial support - The Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) has announced its intention to invest £10,000 in support of further development of the Carbon Trust's carbon calculator.

The calculator is currently freely available and provides an indicative view on users' energy costs and provides estimates on how menu adjustments, changes to equipment and staff training can reduce energy consumption and improve carbon reduction.

Further investment will enable further refinement of the calculator and allow users including manufacturers, consultants and operators, to tailor the tool to meet their own business needs and requirements.

David Bentley, outgoing FCSI chairman said "We're delighted to be the first association to get behind this fantastic tool and it's great to see an idea which started during my two years term as chairman come to fruition. This has the potential to become a crucially useful tool for all sectors of the industry and we urge others to join us and back it."
