Frozen ethnic snack supplier Daloon has found a way to automate the production of the filo pastry used in its products to provide consistency and a crisp-eat quality comparable to handmade filo from the Far East.
Because the pastry is made in the UK, it frees customers from having to plan long lead times for Far Eastern-sourced filo. Daloons's Mini Spring Rolls are the first to benefit from the UK-made filo, followed by its 30g and 70g Vegetable Samosas.
The group expects its entire line to have switched to the new filo pastry by the end of the year.
