Fish and chips are on the menu at European Environment Awards
The Bay Fish & Chips has been selected as one of only 12 companies to represent the UK at the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE).
Calum Richardson, chef/director of the Bay in Stonehaven, said: "To be selected as one of the four UK entrants in the management category for the EBAE is a real honour.
"We are strongly committed to building a sustainable and ethically sound business, and a nomination for this award is a testament to the environmental policies we've put in place, and also to our staff, who work tirelessly to promote our values."
The EBAE recognises outstanding, new or innovative contributions to sustainable development, and the UK finalists will compete for a prize against winners from 28 other countries on the European stage.
UK entrants for Europe are selected from the winners and runners-up of RSA-accredited award schemes.
RSA accreditation is only achieved by a select number of environmental and sustainable award schemes, who demonstrate the high standards expected by the RSA's Environment Awards forum.
Malcolm Aickin, chair of the RSA Environment Awards Forum, said: "The UK entrants have been selected from the winners of six of the 13 UK accredited award schemes.
"The UK has always made an excellent showing in Europe, providing significantly more winners than any other European country."
