ServEquip claims its One-Shot ice-cream dispenser is the first in the world to serve multiple soft-serve flavours from one machine. It will enable small operators to create their own brands and recipes for ice-cream, freeing them from dependence on a limited range of branded impulse products. Unlike most traditional dispensers, it will also allow caterers to add their own inclusions such as nuts, fruit and chocolate chips. The ice-cream is supplied in recyclable single-portion containers that are stored in the One-Shot tempering cabinet. The caterer simply pulls the protective tab off the base of the tub to expose a star-shaped extrusion nozzle and inserts the tub in the small, wall-mounted dispenser. An automatic plunger pushes on the lid of the container to force the ice-cream into a cone or serving tub below. As the ingredients never come into contact with the equipment, there are no cleaning or sanitation issues. The One-Shot can churn out at least 150 portions an hour and costs about £2,000.
