Footprint Awards launched for UK food service

The newly-launched http://www.reynolds-cs.com/introduction.asp" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Footprint Awards](http://www.footprint-awards.com) 2011 is the first awards programme designed to reward sustainability and environmental excellence in the food service market.

They are open to companies and individuals at any stage in the food service supply chain, from growers and suppliers to food outlets and hotels.

The 12 basic award categories cover such topics as use of natural resources, packaging, sourcing, logistics, British supply, energy efficiency, catering equipment, internal communications, sustainable practice, food service installation, consumer engagement, and corporate social and environmental responsibility

There are also individual awards for special achievement and a community vote.

The awards are open for entries until 11 February 2011, and the awards will be presented at a dinner on 19 May at the Royal Institute of British Architecture in London.
