Foster Refrigerator attains Carbon Trust Standard

Foster Refrigerator has become the first commercial refrigeration supplier to attain the Carbon Trust Standard, which has been awarded to around 350 companies in the UK.

"Being certified with the Carbon Trust Standard is proof that an organisation has taken genuine action to reduce its impact on climate change," said Harry Morrison, general manager of the Carbon Trust Standard Company.

To reach the standard, King's Lynn-based Foster had to demonstrate accurate carbon footprint measurement, year-one-year reductions in carbon emissions, and good carbon management.

It was independently assessed over a three-year period that ended in 2009, when it achieved a reduction in carbon emissions in excess of 10%.
