Continental bakery specialist Bakehouse has launched a premium line of fruity sweet pastries, Patisse, that allows caterers lacking bakery skills or bake-off ovens to offer the top-end products more usually found in handcrafted patisseries.
The frozen, fully-baked pastries - made in a new, purpose-built bakery from a rich, all-butter dough and glazed before and after baking - are ready to thaw and serve. They offer a choice of hand-crafted shapes, zingy fruit fillings and hand-finished whole-fruit toppings.
Options include Passion Fruit & Raspberry Diamond (passion fruit crème patissière topped with raspberry dark chocolate spikes); and Rhubarb Crumble Square (combining rhubarb, strawberry, butter crumble and chopped pistachios).
There are two baskets - Apple & Blackberry Panier (an almond and apple filling topped with whole blackberries) and Chocolate & Raspberry Panier (marrying a dark chocolate filling and garnish with raspberry conserve and berries); and completing the range are the Caramel & Pecan Rosette and the Orange & Poppy Seed Rosette.
