Gandhi Oriental Foods launch World of Zing portfolio
Gandhi Oriental Foods, a business established in 1968 to cater to the Indian restaurant sector, has launched the World of Zing range of ingredients.
With a client base including some of London's leading Indian restaurants, including Dishoom, Gymkhana, Quilon and many more, the World of Zing portfolio has been launched to provide a larger selection of ingredients for the modern chef.
The new business has been Slow Food approved and comprises a range that includes: rare chillies and peppers from China and Mexico, herbs and spices such as zaatar and pomegranate syrup from the Middle East and flavoured sea salts.
The new business is headed-up by third-generation family member, Pritesh Mody, who commented: "We have noticed an increasing disconnect between the eating habits of the adventurous food community and the produce available to the catering trade. The new generation of chefs and caterers are increasingly moving away from classic recipes to experiment with a whole new array of ingredients from across the world.
"Indeed, it's no longer a surprise to see Korean gochujang paste or Middle-Eastern sumac found everywhere from gastropubs to traditional fine-dining venues. World of Zing is the first business that covers both the basics alongside these exciting new ingredients."
