Gary Hunter joins Mövenpick's Chef of the Year judging panel

Gary Hunter, head of culinary arts, hospitality and food & beverage service at Westminster Kingsway College, has joined the judging panel for this year's Mövenpick Chef of the Year Competition.

Hunter said: "Desserts are a fantastic opportunity for chefs to let their imaginations run wild. As 80% of restaurant orders continue to exclude dessert, I'm excited to be part of a project that will help put desserts back on the menu by showing their full creative potential.

The full line-up of judges include: Allan Pickett, head chef, Plateau restaurant; Sheila Eggleston, Stockpot Editor; Tim Futter, development chef, MÁ¶venpick and last year's competition winner pastry chef Sarah Frankland of William Curley patisseries.

The competition, which searches for Britain's best gourmet dessert chef, is organised in partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs and deadline for entries close on 17 June 2013.
