The GohBio food waste disposal system from Mechline uses a formula of highly-refined, naturally-occuring micro-organisms to reduce food waste to a non-toxic grey waste liquid (70% water) that can be safely discharged into drains and sewers.

The system is designed to deal with high volumes of leftover food in sites such as city centres, high-rise buildings and ships, where landfill and composting are costly and unsustainable options.

It can deal with most types of foods - including meat, poultry, vegetables, rice, bread, pasta, fruit, coffee and dairy - but bones and highly fibrous foods will need to be disposed of through conventional methods.

There are four models that can reduce 180kg, 360kg, 550kg or 680kg of food waste into liquid in 24 hours.

Mechline's eco-friendly range also includes Aquajet pre-rinses that can save up to 25% in water use and a polycarbonate wash hand basin (the WS1) which has a lower carbon footprint than stainless steel basins and an antimicrobial additive to improve hygiene.
