The Stewed! range of gourmet microwaveable stews - which contain no preservatives, additives or gluten and are endorsed by Providores chef Peter Gordon - have been launched into the food service sector with a trial placement in Esquire's coffee shops.
Unlike the 325g single-serve retail pots, the catering packs comprise 1.3kg trays packed four to the case. Recipes include the new Thai Green Chicken stew, which combines chicken thigh, baby corn, sweet potato and shiitake mushrooms in coconut milk and Thai spices.
Other options are Hungarian goulash; Chickpea, sweet potato and feta; and Chorizo, chickpea and pork. The Stewed! cookbook by founder Alan Rosentha - 80 Irresistible Stews and One-Pot Wonders - is published by Ebury Press in October.
