Handmade pies from Denby Dale Pie Company

Hotels, pubs and other caterers can now offer traditional handmade pies from the Denby Dale Pie Company, which has launched its range of high-quality, frozen pies into the foodservice market.

The company, formed in 2001, takes its name from the village of Denby Dale which is known as the ‘home of pies' thanks to its commemorative creations over the past 200 years that culminated in the record-breaking 20-ton, 40-foot-long Millennium Pie.

The pies, developed by chef Janet Purcell, include Meat & Potato, Steak, Steak & Kidney, Steak and "Black Sheep Ale", Steak & Mushroom, Chicken & Bacon, and Chicken & Mushroom.

The foodservice line includes individual pies sold in packs of 24 and 2.8kg "oven-to-table" multi-portion pies in cases of three.

The company will also make pies to order.
