Higgidy pies and pastries from Southover

No bar menu would be complete without a selection of hearty pies and pastries, which the Southover Food Company offers in abundance.

Fresh from the Higgidy kitchens is a collection of pies, quiches and tartlets made with British meat and without chemicals, additives or preservatives. The hand-shaped and -filled pies are also hand-finished with mashed potato or a scattering of pine nuts.

Seven types of pie are available, including British Beef Steak, Stilton and Mash; Lemon Chicken and Bacon with Spinach and Lentils; and Mediterranean Vegetables and Feta Cheese. There are four pies to a case, with an average baked weight of 300g each.

A selection of deep-filled quiches includes Smoked Salmon and Asparagus; Wild Mushroom and Feta Cheese; and Higgidy Quiche Lorraine with British Baked Ham and Streaky Bacon. Measuring 12in in diameter, the quiches have an average baked weight of 2.5kg and are supplied frozen and chilled.

Also available is a range of savoury tartlets, including Creamy Leek, Goats' Cheese and Pink Peppercorn; British Bacon and Mature Cheddar Cheese; and Smoked Salmon and Leek. Packed six to a box, the quiches are supplied frozen.
