Various types of presentation trays, candle lamps, chef jackets, waiter waistcoats, cutlery ranges and tableware collections are among the tabletop items on show.

1. LUMEA

Lumea Candle Lamps provide hotels, restaurants and bars with the ambience of real candlelight illumination but without the mess and fire hazards.

A vast range of bases and shades are fuelled by Lumea Liquid Wax Candles, which feature covered flames for safety and are non-drip, smoke-free and long-burning - for between 12 and 40 hours. Other options include electric rechargeable flicker candles and battery-operated tealight and wax pillar candles.

Lumea Chafing Fuels offer safe reliable heat to keep food warm and are available as superhot gel that will burn for more than two hours or a visible-flame, spill-proof wick liquid fuel.

2. BUNZL LOCKHART CATERING EQUIPMENT


Bunzl will be showing the new Basalt Range from Revol, a line of black porcelain presentation trays made to resemble slate.

The versatile, stylish and hard-wearing range will not crumble or scratch, is non-porous, free from toxic cadmium and lead, and safe to use in the microwave, dishwasher and freezer. It is available as either a flat tray or with an indented surface to hold bespoke coffee cups and dip pots in nine sizes, from 14cm x 8cm to 40cm x30cm.

Also new is the recycled, renewable and biodegradable Pristine line of paper hygiene products, which include dispenser toilet rolls and tissues, centrefee towel rolls, z-fold hand towels and facial tissues. For a limited period, Bunzl is giving away a free dispenser for every two cases ordered.

3. CRASTER


The use of innovative materials and cutting-edge technology makes Craster's new Steadygrip range of fully-bonded, injection-moulded thermoplastic trays a departure from generic shapes and finishes.

It includes the new Wave tray, whose high-grade ABS base is topped with a fully-bonded anti-slip rubber over-mould surface that keeps the tray's contents from slipping. The rubberised feet also provide a firm and quiet surface grip. The tray is durable, anti-scratch and dishwasher-safe, with a shape that makes it fully stackable.

Wave is available in a variety of colours and sizes and can be branded to customers' specifications.

4. GOURMET DISPLAY


Cold Concept is the newest addition to Gourmet Display's line of space-saving food and beverage presentation pieces for buffets, breakfasts, concierge or meeting breaks.

A square plate in either bright white porcelain or high-grade melamine sits atop eutectic plates on contoured holders to chill food for up to one hour (melamine) or two hours (porcelain). The displays can be used alone or stacked on metal tiers, with a choice of 10 risers in the four powder-coat finishes of black, platinum, white and silver-vein.

Cold Concept joins a line-up that includes beverage housings, ice pedestals, acrylic bowls, mirrored serving trays, and presentation pieces made from glass and simulated marble.

5. JOHN ARTIS


Most of the china, glassware, cutlery and bar products in the new John Artis 2010 catalogue remain under wraps until the brochure is unveiled at the show.

The exception is the new line of 18/10 stainless-steel cutlery named Spooon - the three Os emphasising the novel design of the thicker-than-average forks, which have three tines instead of the usual four. This provides a clean, elegant line with a curved handle and a pinched waist. Spooon is designed to be functional, comfortable to hold, well-balanced and affordable - the three-tined fork costs £2.30, with knives costing £1.88.

6. OLIVER HARVEY


The Dorset is the flagship chef's jacket in Oliver Harvey's new "Quintessentially British" line of chefsware. Designed and made in Britain from the finest materials, the initial collection of four jackets - from entry level to executive - two trousers, and waist and bib aprons is aimed at young, aspiring chefs seeking style, comfort and durability.

The Dorset is a double-breasted executive chef jacket crafted from 100% Long Staple Egyptian Cotton that incorporates Coolmax underarm ventilation panels, hand-rolled buttons, French rounded double cuffs, a double pen pocket, a top-stitched collar with inside collar ribbon and a deep double-turned twin-needled hem. It is available with short or long sleeves and in a tall cut for chefs exceeding six feet in height.

7. ONEIDA


Viners has been making cutlery for more than 100 years and is now available to the food service sector through the new Viners Professional line from cutlery, glassware and buffetware specialist Oneida.

The highly polished cutlery, made from 18/0 stainless steel, is available in five collections that range from the edgy, ultra-modern Passion to the smooth and curved Perfection. Dedication, Obsession and Devotion complete the line-up.

The Oneida stand will be offering 15% cashback offers on selected lines, along with prize draws to win £300 worth of Oneida cutlery and £200 Wedgwood vouchers.

8. ROBERT WELCH DESIGNS


Bud is the latest line of cutlery to join the Robert Welch Designs portfolio, so named because the fork tines, spoon bowls and knife blades look like newly-formed buds sprouting from the stem-like handles.

Also new for Hotelympia are the Rushan salt and pepper pots with softly curving lines that contrast with the angular bamboo base and the elegant Radford napkin rings that are hand-finished in stainless steel.

No fewer than six candlesticks and tealight holders will make their debut, including the Clove design with a novel curved shape that can be used alone or combined into a series of patterns.

9. STUDIO WILLIAM


An arboreal theme links two new cutlery ranges from Studio William that are both forged from 18/10 stainless steel and given a mirror finish. The Royal Oak collection is named after the tree in which Charles II hid from the Roundheads during the English Civil War and the pieces carry the historical King's Pattern beneath the handles.

The Arolla line, which features clean, asymmetric lines, is named after a form of pine tree that is common in the Alps and the Carpathian Mountains whose seeds are used to flavour Schnapps.

10. VILLEROY & BOCH


Two white tableware collections - Damasco and Look - head up the new lines from Villeroy & Boch, which also include Slides, Urban Nature, Bloom Sun & Shadow, and the Gourmet Stars cutlery range.

Damsco, available from 1 April, features a country-classic shape with slight ridges around the outside edges while Look, available from 1 July, has a slightly nostalgic faint herringbone pattern around the rim. Other additions include Cera and new pieces for the Food & Mood series for Flow, Marchesi, Pi Carre and HotWave Caffe.

11. TIBARD


An all-in-one waiter's waistcoat and apron will make its first appearance on Tibard's stand at Hotelympia.

Saving caterers the expense of buying separate waistcoats and aprons, the waistcoat button placket looks like two products but is a single item with a pull-over head neck strap and non-tangle apron that ties around the waist. It will be displayed alongside the workwear company's chef's jackets, aprons, t-shirts, skull caps and trousers.
