How can operators improve their CSR and sustainability practices?
How can operators improve their CSR and sustainability practices? An effective way is by partnering with other organisations, be it within your supply chain - ensuring that customers continue to receive quality of service and value - or peripheral companies that share your common goals.
We have collaborated with many organisations, including Shropshire Council, Elior and, most recently, with independent contract caterer Bartlett Mitchell to reduce the number of weekly deliveries to its sites, as part of its Free-Wheeling campaign.
As well as providing the necessary support to launch the initiative, we will be consolidating a number of our deliveries to guarantee that sustainability targets are met. We put our customers at the forefront of our business and by supporting them, we're not only helping them achieve their objectives but are working towards our own CSR goals.
Involvement in projects such as this help organisations positively communicate their CSR key learnings and best practice advice - encouraging others to follow suit. Sustainability strategies are not secrets. Operators should promote their achievements to both their employees and their fellow organisations, demonstrating their commitment to achieving their goals and giving confidence and respect in their company and their values.
