IFE appoints industry leaders to advisory board

IFE has brought together some of the industry's leading figures to strategically advise on its 2013 event, taking place at ExCel London between 17-20 March.

The IFE Advisory Board which brings together senior executives from a range of industry bodies; assurance standards, commercial organisations; research houses, charities and consultants, from the world of retail, distribution, wholesale, export, sustainability and foodservice, join forces with the IFE management team, headed by event director, Christopher McCuin.

The Advisory Board members will help identify the key business trends and issues that both exhibitors and visitors are currently facing. This will enable IFE to develop content that will educate and facilitate debate and discussion.

Companies represented by the IFE Advisory Board include: Food Storage and Distribution Federation; British Frozen Food Federation; Mintel ; Food & Drink Federation; Red Tractor; Wrap and The Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association.

McCuin said: "Our first meeting tabled many of the burning issues that the industry is facing, from the long-term safety and security issues surrounding the food supply chain, increased legislation and the legal ramifications of initiatives such as salt reductions and fat taxes.

"These discussions are enabling us to add real depth and weight to our educational programme content at the show, and we are working on a range of exciting initiatives that we will be unveiling over the coming months."
