Indian espresso from Drury Tea and Coffee

Caffé Baba is a new medium-roast espresso from Drury Tea and Coffee Company that is blended from three Indian coffees. The new beverage has been named after Baba Budan, the Indian pilgrim believed to have introduced coffee to India 400 years ago, and was developed by master roaster Mike Lindie and Drury's barista trainer Fabrizio Liverani.

It incorporates the clean, rich and silky Cherry Robusta coffee with the smooth and mellow Mysore Plantation A variety. The third coffee, Monsooned Malabar, recreates the accidental changes that occurred on sea trips in the past when monsoon winds and high humidity aged the coffee beans and changed their colour and nature to a mellow but intense flavour with very low acidity. Caffé Baba brings Drury's commercial range of espressos to 16 and is packed in 10 x 1kg cases, with a list price of £8.60 per kg.
