Initial's Washroom Hygiene division launches UltraProtect range to help combat poor handwashing practices
The Washroom Hygiene division of Initial has launched a new range called UltraProtect following a four-year-long development process by partners Byotrol.
The convenient range of hand and surface sanitising products for commercial and public use includes a gel hand sanitiser, a foam hand sanitiser and handy packs of hand and surface wipes.
The UltraProtect launch follows recent warnings by the Global Handwashing Day Coalition, which includes Initial Washroom Hygiene, on poor hand hygiene levels in the UK. An Initial-commissioned European-wide study into workplace hygiene in 2011 found that 63% of women and 73% of men in British businesses admitted to not washing their hands after going to the toilet; with only one in three Britons stating they did it every time.
Claimed to kill 99.9% of germs, and having longer-lasting protection than traditional alcohol-based cleaners, the product will offer continuous protection for up to six hours on hands and 24 hours on hard surfaces, killing a wide range of bacteria and viruses including swine flu (H1N1), MRSA, salmonella, norovirus and E coli.
