JJ Food Service and Kerrymaid join forces to provide educational tools
National wholesaler JJ Food Service and Irish dairy brand Kerrymaid have announced a partnership to provide school caterers with an information and education online portal.
The portal, which is housed on the JJ website, aims to help those wanting to achieve the Food for Life catering mark - an award that is given to caterers who provide seasonal, traceable, healthy and sustainable meals using fresh ingredients, free from trans-fats and additives.
As well as receiving advice, caterers can access recipes from Kerrymaid brand ambassador, school meals policy advisor to the Soil Association and chair of the new School Food Plan Alliance, Jeanette Orrey.
Working closely with Kerrymaid's team of nutritionists, Nina Grosicka, in-house nutritionist for JJ Food Service said: "Now it's even easier for our school catering customers to achieve the Catering Mark standard of 75% freshly prepared meals. They can access the recipes anytime via a PC, tablet or mobile. Even better, when they find a recipe they like, they're only clicks away from getting the ingredients they need."
