JJ Food Service to invest £500K into new solar panels
National wholesaler JJ Food Service has recently completed the installation of solar panels on the roof of their Enfield Headquarters with a total investment of £500,000.
The initiative, which also covers the company's Sidcup branch, saw a total of 960 panels installed, which will be used to generate an estimated 219,000 kWh annually.
Faisal Haque, co-founder of Wrap It Up, praised the project, and said: "At Wrap it up! we are committed to developing a sustainable environment and work with suppliers who share our long-term vision of reducing waste and protecting the planet.
"We are very pleased to hear that JJ Food Service has installed solar panels on the roof of their Enfield branch as this demonstrates they share the same environmental values as us and take the protecting of the planet very seriously. We hope their lead in this area will provide some inspiration for the other wholesalers to follow suit too."
Mustafa Kiamil, managing director, of JJ Foodservice, added: "By improving our environmental credentials we are helping our customers to do the same. Solar energy is sustainable, renewable and the panels require little to no maintenance. It will also help to reduce our energy bill in the long term."
