Johnnie Walker Blue Label smart bottle

Diageo's Johnnie Walker Blue Label has showcased its new ‘smart bottle' technology at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The prototype bottle uses thin electronic sensors which can tell if the bottle has been opened or not and where it is in the supply chain.

The technology, created by Thinfilm in collaboration with Diageo, can be accessed by customers who scan the bottle with their smartphone and be used to send promotional information or cocktail recipes, for example.
