Juan Pablo of the Foundry, London wins Barry Callebaut UK chocolate masters challenge

Juan Pablo Colubri, pastry chef at the Foundry restaurant in London has been named as the winner of the Barry Callebaut UK Chocolate Masters Challenge.

Colubri wins an all-expenses paid trip to the World Chocolate Masters finals in Paris (28-30 October 2013) to watch the globe's finest chocolate artisans, including UK Chocolate Master Ruth Hinks do battle.

Speaking on the win Colubri said: "I'm so happy and really grateful to everyone who voted for my combination. A trip to the World Chocolate Masters will allow me to witness first-hand the latest trends, new techniques and assemblies of chocolate. Most of all it will be great to see the competitors in action and learn from them."

Entries were posted to the UK World Chocolate Masters' twitter with the best four chosen and put to a public vote. More than 1,000 individual votes were registered

Robert Harrison, sales director for Barry Callebaut said: "Congratulations to Juan, his winning combination shows that the spirit of flavour innovation is alive and well in the world of chocolate."

Thank you to everyone that entered. We had some absolutely fantastic combinations and the voting for the final four was extremely close - we now look forward to welcoming Juan as our special guest to the World Chocolate Masters."
