Knorr Gravy begins the hunt for the UK's Best British Roast Dinner
The hunt has begun to find out which hospitality operator serves up the UK's ‘Best British Roast Dinner'.
Unileverbrand Knorr Gravy, which is sponsoring the week-long British Roast Dinner Week, is encouraging operators to ‘boast their roasts' and nominate themselves by filling in an online entry form (at www.britishroastdinnerweek.co.uk)](http://www.britishroastdinnerweek.co.uk)) by Sunday 16 December.
The competition is open to all hospitality operators, from country pubs to city hotels and staff canteens, and the best five entries submitted online will receive a visit from a mystery diner before the final winner is announced.
"Our research shows that consumers' perfect roast dinner is made up of: three slices of beef, three roast potatoes, two Yorkshire puddings and vegetables with gravy poured on top," said Sarah Branagan, Knorr category manager for sauces.
"We want to know about your traditional dinners, with all the trimmings, and the more unusual roasts. Did you know that 44% of consumers want mashed potatoes with their roast dinners. Our mystery diner expert wants to taste them all."
British Roast Dinner Week runs from 1-7 October.
