Large fat-free fryer from Valera

Quik n' Crispy - Valera's healthy fryer that uses no added oil or fat - now comes in a large-capacity version, the QNC-GF5, that combines the benefits of the compact QNC-GF11 with the high-volume output required for batch cooking and larger premises.

It is equally at home on a pub counter or as part of a 24-hour room service when the main kitchens are closed.

The appliance uses hot air and radiant heat to "fry" ovenable chips, grill precooked meats and bake pizzas and hot sandwiches. Hot air-fried items are crispy and brown on the outside and juicy inside but typically contain 20-40% less fat and cholesterol compared with those cooked in traditional deep-fat fryers.

The newcomer can produce up to 2kg of hot air-fried appetisers per batch or 15kg of French fries per hour and is capable of cooking different foods at the same time without any cross-ontamination in taste.

The fryer - with stainless-steel cabinet and cavity - contains a built-in grease and carbon filtration system to cut down on offensive odours and vapours and eliminate the need for expensive extraction systems.

Features include easy-to-use electronic controls, 15 programmable presets, and an audible end-of-timer signal. It has a list price of £3,999.
