Lavazza completes its Grand Slam

Lavazza has confirmed its fourth Grand Slam contract, with the announcement that it is the brand partner to the Australian Open, in addition to Wimbledon, the US Open and Roland Garros.

The three-year deal means that the Italian company will be the only food and beverage brand in the world to be a partner to all four Grand Slam tournaments.

Giuseppe Lavazza, group vice president, said: "It is with great pride that thanks to the partnership just signed with the Australian Open, we can announce that we are the official coffee of the world's top four tennis tournaments.

"These highly prestigious events take place in key markets for the company and because of their global resonance they are the perfect fit for the brand's internationalisation strategy."

During the Australian Open, from the 18-31 January 2016 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Lavazza will offer authentic Italian espresso to all spectators, players, staff and international press.

"The Lavazza brand and its 120 years of history and passion have been a fact of life in Australia for over 30 years. This is a strategic market for us where we aim to achieve even higher growth and where since 1 September 2015 we have started managing our business directly, through a subsidiary," added Lavazza.

All activities, news and information relating to the partnership between Lavazza and the Australian Open will be available at www.lavazza.com
