Leathams to be food service sales partner for Splenda

Leathams has announced a deal with sugar alternative Splenda to become the brand's sales partner for the food service market in the UK.

The deal will cover wholesale, cash and carry, hotels, restaurants, cafés and contract and events catering.

Commenting on the deal, Alison Wilkinson, sales director - food service, said: "We are delighted to be working with Splenda, a well-recognised, global brand, joining our own list of innovative food service brands, such as Merchant Gourmet, SunBlush and Chefs Brigade."

"Customers should see no change as the product range remains available through their current distribution partner."

Stuart Findlater, UK sales director of McNeil Nutritionals, the owner of the Splenda brand, anticipates a successful relationship between the two companies. He said: "Leathams are a great example of how to successfully operate in the food service industry, and their expertise and passion for food will ultimately mean that Splenda will reach more chefs, restaurants, cafés and events in the UK than ever before."
