The Major Culinary Challenge Competition returns

The Major Culinary Challenge Competition held in conjunction with the Craft Guild of Chefs is now open for entries.

The 2023 Competition has evolved and is now open to junior and senior competitors (juniors being those aged 22 years in March 2023; and seniors aged over 22 years). Those looking to take part must develop a two-course menu, comprising a vegan starter and a main course of their choosing.

Paper entries will be required to be submitted by 25 November 2022, with judges choosing eight seniors and eight juniors to compete in the semi-finals with judging to take place in December, and semi-finalists notified by the 16 December 2022.

Semi Finalists will compete at either Hartlepool College (Northern venue) or Eastleigh College (Southern venue), where a winner and runner up will be decided from each location. The senior and junior Finalists will then go on to battle it out at the final at HRC at ExCel London, in March 2023.

Each winner will receive a Michelin-starred meal in their local area for themselves and one guest (food only); and a two-day Culinary Flavour Discovery at Major's UK Headquarters in Milton Keynes (overnight accommodation included).
