Makro refreshes Aro own-brand for hospitality and caterers

Cash-and-carry operator Makro has refreshed its Aro own-brand range for hotels, restaurants and caterers, promising to match or beat other value ranges on the market.

The new-look line of up of 25 food and non-food products includes 1kg of potato wedges for 89p and garden peas priced at £2.35 for a 2.5kg pack. A three-egg omelette with cooked ham and grated mild cheese using Aro products carries a customer cost per serving of just 39p while a single serving of Aro gammon, peas, eggs and pomme frites will cost around £1.41.

The Aro range also covers chicken, bacon, sausages, iceberg lettuce, coffee granules, condiments and an Apple Crumble Cake, along with washing-up liquid, kitchen towels and clingfilm.

The move is part of a programme to streamline the portfolio into six brands targeted at specific markets.
