Mary Quicke receives Exceptional Contribution to Cheese award

Mary Quicke, the owner and head cheesemaker at Quicke's dairy in Newton St Cyres, Exeter, Devon has been presented with the ‘Exceptional Contribution to Cheese' award at the World Cheese Awards 2015.

The dinner, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham last month, saw Quicke collect her lifetime achievement award for her dedication to creating superior cheeses.

The cheesemaker's passion for her dairy herd and artisan cheesemaking methods make her a leading authority on traditional cheese production and in 2005 she received an MBE for her contribution to farming and cheesemaking.

A regular contributor to Devon Life

"When you love what you do it never feels like work, and cheesemaking at Home Farm is what makes me tick. I am inextricably linked to the land and our herd; and creating beautiful cheeses is my passion. I hope to dedicate a further lifetime to cheese."
