McCain is Named Laca supplier of the year
http://www.laca.co.uk/awards.php" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">McCain Foods ](http://www.mccainfoodservice.co.uk)has been named the [Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA) Outstanding Supplier of the Year for 2010 for its response to the introduction of strict Government guidelines on school food.
The award is voted for by school catering staff and local authority catering managers in addition to a judging panel from LACA. The judges' citation said: "The changes in regulations posted particular challenges for retention of business in our industry, and it is heartening to see how the company has responded to producing products which help meet compliance. Recently, the forums offered by McCain have been particularly useful to all concerned in understanding each other's business and needs."
The company's solutions for customers to help them meet the guidelines included the development of the Alternatives range and, in particular, Simply Potato, specifically designed to satisfy Nutrient Based Standards; and a programme of education forums to help gain greater understanding of customer needs.
