McCain launches Signature Dish Competition 2009

McCain is partnering with the Craft Guild of Chefs to launch the McCain Signature Dish Competition 2009.

The competition is open to chefs in their third year as students or first year working and requires them to create their own signature dishes incorporating products from the McCain Signatures range.

Recipes for a starter and a main course for two covers will be judged on their innovation and originality. Regional cook-offs will be held on 13 March at Thanet College, 20 March at Liverpool College, 17 April at City of Bristol College and 24 April at Sheffield College, and competitors will have two hours to cook their dishes. The judges will then select competitors to take part in the final to be held at Thames Valley University on 13 June.

The winner and their college or employer will receive £1,000 each and three runners-up will win £750 each.

For more information on how to enter visit www.mccain.co.uk/foodservice or contact the Craft Guild of Chefs at craftguild@btconnect.com for an entry form. Deadline for entries is 28 February.
