Mean Bean pie joins Pieminister's vegetarian line-up

Bristol's Pieminister has launched a third vegetarian pie to join its existing line of Great Taste Award-winning non-meat options, which include the Wildshroom and Asparagus pie and the Heidi pie, voted Best Vegetarian Pie in the 2009 British Pie Awards.

The newcomer is the spicy Mean Bean pie that combines a Mexican three-bean chilli with heaps of fresh coriander. The group's chief pie-creator Tristan Hogg suggests serving it with Pieminister buttery mash and vegetarian red wine gravy or sprinkling it with cheese before baking and serving with fresh tomato salsa, sour cream and a lime and coriander salad.
