Miele laundry appliances for hospitals

The selection of 10kg to 32kg washing machines from Miele are designed to offer a range of programme packages to help establishments quickly and efficiently wash a wide range of different textiles.

There are programmes for bedding, table linen and for kitchenwear (including workwear, towels and cloths), with the latter using thermal disinfection at 90°C in the main wash for maximum hygiene.

Miele's washer-extractor measures are packed with features to cut time, water and detergent consumption and so reduce operating costs.

Four sensors at the start of a wash programme detect the weight of the dry load and tailor the consumption of resources to suit.

Water savings can be as high as 25% on a partially full 10kg wash, with a further 30% saving stemming from a water recovery module that stores rinse water for recycling as pre-wash water in the next batch.

Programmes that reduce the number of rinse cycles from three to two can reduce water consumption by 25% in the Cottons 60°C programme and can shave eight minutes off the cycle with no dropoff in performance.

The group's tumble dryers also offer a range of features to reduce drying times, including a patented honeycomb drum made of convex hexagons that create air pockets that will dry laundry faster while protecting the fabrics.

Some models use electronic moisture sensors to ensure that laundry is not over-dried, and some recycle 60% of the hot air produced to increase energy efficiency even more.
