Mitre Linen celebrates 70th anniversary with visit from Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns

Linen, towelling and soft furnishings supplier Mitre Linen celebrated its 70th anniversary this week with a visit from the Secretary of State for Wales, Alun Cairns.

He toured Mitre's headquarters in Merthyr Tydfil and met some of the 95 people employed by the company including new MD Jim Mangan (pictured left with Cairns).

Cairns said: "Congratulations to Mitre Linen on its 70th anniversary. This is a real South Wales success story built by local people and Mitre has established its name by supplying some of the world's top hotels among its many clients. I look forward to seeing it go from strength to strength."

Mangan added: "We were delighted to welcome Mr Cairns to help celebrate the company's 70th anniversary.

"This is an exciting time for Mitre and I am proud of my team, who deliver excellent customer service to our loyal customers, and of our expanding range of high quality products, which are exported to multiple countries as well as throughout the UK."

The company recently launched Mitre for Students to help kit students out for university and is expanding its work in the growing serviced apartment sector as a record number of tourists visit the UK.
