Money-saving MT drying technology from Winterhalter

The new Fresh Air Drying Zone technology used in the MT Series of rack and flight glass- and dishwashers from Winterhalter can save hospitals at least 33% in running costs while improving drying results and the climate in which laundry staff work.

Unlike standard high-volume dishwashers, which use air within the machine to dry dishes, the MT Series draws in fresh unsaturated air from outside, warms it gently and disposes of it through the site's ventilation system after use.

Because the air is 10% less humid, the plates are drier and cooler, making them safer to handle, while the reduction in heat and vapour creates a more comfortable working atmosphere. The gentle warming reduces the machine's total connected load by as much as 2kW or 4kW.

The washers also contain heat exchangers and features to reduce water and detergent consumption. They are available with preferential discount from the Office of Government Commerce under contract number A126449A, with SEG numbers of 99/6, 99/8 and 99/1.
